the rain stops; the city is shrouded in mist, but the sky is something else - a thousand miles of crystal clear ice, with a million pinpricks of lights frozen in their dance across the heavens.
Wednesday
Pikachu meets an untimely end...
I just had to post this... Pikachu meeting a fatal accident. ^_^ This counts as one of the few times I actually LOL while surfing the net.
Saturday
Leet Cool Thing
Sometimes I come across pictures which are an absolute mystery. Anyone have an idea what this is? Experiental fusion reactor, or particle collider?
Tuesday
Redang Island
Someone took a picture of the reefs off the East Coast of Malaysia... I've been to something like 5 different islands. You can see masses of fish like this literally several feet from the shore. At some sites the water is clearer than the best swimming pools I've seen, I kid you not. So clear it looks toxic.
Sunday
Dim Sum in Melbourne
Yum... we had this the other day... I don't know what this is called... typically Dim Sum restaurants will put prawns or some seafood in the Chee Cheong Fan wrap but this one had crispy Yeow Char Kuay.
Royal Parade
This is what the path to my university looks like. (it is autumn now by the way). A 25 minutes walk to my class through what must be the most accident prone area in Melbourne.
Friday
Early Colour Photo
Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii, photographer to the Tsar in Russia. He developed a method of color photography, early 1900s, by taking three shots with three coloured filters, then combining the three images and projecting them onto a wall. One of his works.
Thursday
Rossi
A picture of Rossi, the official House Cat. Still the best one I've been able to take all these years, he hates getting his photo taken. He'll turn his face away, close his eyes, run away, etc, anything to avoid a photo. (btw some of these entries are just me archiving photos I don't want to lose)
Wednesday
This battle calls for massive firepower...
The Iowa class battleship firing a full broadside of its nine 16 inch guns. Each gun fires an armour piercing shell weighing more than a tonne, capable of penetrating 32 feet of reinforced concrete. As of now all four Iowa class ships have been decommissioned.
