WTF??? Unfair!!!


Been quite awhile since I had evil fun in Dota. Some of the players had not seen the latest version of Dota yet, 6.03b. It's hard to fight against an enemy hero you are not familiar with, to say the least.

I was playing the Phantom Lancer and he has a really slick move... called DoppleWalk. What happens is that when you use that skill, you break away from your real self, leaving a Doppleganger behind, while the "real" you goes into a Windwalk mode, able to run at increased speed, run through solid objects, and becoming invisible until you attack something or cast a spell. To the opponent's eyes however, the only indication that anything has happened is that the movement animation of your hero stutters for a tenth of a second. At any point in the fight they aren't sure whether they are still fighting against you or against an illusion.

Even worse, two of my opponents did not know about the DoppleWalk skill at all. So to their eyes what happened was that out of nowhere, my character appears right next to them, uses the spirit lance + dagon combo to slay one enemy hero. Then I DoppleWalk and escape while they immediately retaliate against the Doppleganger illusion I leave behind... and they think they're killing me, of course, until the image they are attacking takes enough damage that it disappears in a puff of smoke. Of course this makes them think that it was an illusion all along that was killing their heroes... so I get a stream of "WTF??? How come your illusions can kill our heroes?" on the public chat channel.

Everyone's still stuck at 5.84c here....the 6.0X maps still have alot of imbalances and bugs.

ZOMG....how cheating is the new SA smoke bomb ability? Cannot escape...who needs death wards?

i think 6.03b is much more balanced than 5.84c after having played both. two cases stand out particularly : 5.84c medusa and sandking were too strong. both have been reduced to reasonable level now in 6.03b : medusa lost her splitshot and purge, sandking burrowstrike given longer recovery time, ultimate weakened and channeling time increased to allow more chance to counterstun. less bugs than 5.84c i think from what i've seen.

basically, there are heroes which i honestly hate fighting in 5.84c (medusa and sandking) whereas in 6.03b i find i have an equal chance to win any game no matter what heroes the enemy picks.

stealth assasin smokebomb is strong but nothing really scary... only good thing is that the cooldown is quick. it's only 30% slow movespeed, you can get out pretty quick, at which point you turn around and retaliate or continue running. the SA needs to get either diffusal or skadi to slow you sufficiently to force you to stand your ground and fight. it gets more complicated in team situations : the disruption effect of an area silence / disable is pretty strong, but not had enough experience with good SAs yet.

i went 19-1 today with the phantom lancer on battlenet. second highest kill rate went to top killer on opponent team, and our team had a leaver at level 7, so we weren't exactly fighting an easy match either.

The 6.03b game i played, no idea what the SA items are...but omg...smoke bomb and nothing escapes him...and after feeding him about 6 deaths....really cannot run liow.

Smoke bomb makes you lose spells and slows you down considerably...and then he just whack whack whack bleh....gila.

Haha...and maybe malaysian players suk...but medusa and SA is pretty meh...nothing to shout about.
